Getting To Know The CEO

Bro. Charles L. Wilson, Sr. was born in the little town of Waller, Texas; where he grew up on his parent’s farm with seven brothers and one sister. He is the proud son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry J. Wilson. 

At an earlier age, Bro. Wilson was always known as a person with great ambitions and dreams. He would often tell his parents that nothing or no one would slow him down from accomplishing his dreams.   

This was evident as Bro. Wilson often worked jobs, while in school, to help his parents with his siblings.  As he graduated from school, he continued on with his dreams to attend college.  However, as he attended school, he continued working various jobs to assist his parents.  He attended Prairie View A & M University. 

At the age of nineteen, Bro. Wilson felt it was time for him to move-on and pursue his dreams.  It was at this time that he moved into the big city, Houston, Texas and formed his first group; The Southern Clouds of Joy Jr’s.  He also formed and managed a group by the name of The Psalms of Joy.

As retiring from Delta, Bro. Wilson began to further his dreams by pursuing his own business; which great success has been noted.  It was at this time that he was approached by Herb Keller to come and work at Southwest Airlines as a Public Relations Manager; in which he accepted the position and had great success.  He worked for Southwest Airlines for over 17 years, during which time he was noted for making many commercials.  He then retired for the second time and continued with his dream of producing great Quartette music. 

Bro. Wilson returned to the music industry with a group well known to the Houston area; The Pillars of Fire.  Under his management, they were renamed as The Exciting Pillars of Fire.  While managing this group, they performed all over Texas and parts of Louisiana. Bro. Wilson is also a proud member of The Lone Star Singing Association.  He can be found every third Sunday evening fellowshipping with the association around town. 

As the CEO of Unity Love Tour, Bro. Charles Wilson, Sr. has brought two exciting events to the city of Houston; Fifth Sunday Gospel Tyme with The Texas Four and Unity Love Tours.  Each fifth Sunday promises a great time of fellowship as The Texas Four along with national groups presents music for all to enjoy.  The Texas Four, who were organized under his leadership, consist of The Disciples of Christ, The Endurance, The Houston Harmonettes, and The Legendary Joyful Harmonizers.

Bro. Wilson also promotes Unity Love Tour, which also provides a platform for nationally acclaimed groups to minister twice a year.  During these events, The Disciples of Christ, The Endurance, The Houston Harmonettes, The Original Spiritual Travelers, as well as other nationally known groups provide great entertainment for the city.
