About Us
Charles L. Wilson was born in a little town of Waller, Texas were he grew up on his parents farm with seven brother and one sister. At an earlier age Charles was a go getter, he always had ambitions and dreams. He would tell his parents that no one or nothing was going to slow his dreams down. Charles worked through school to help his parents with his siblings, while he continue working, Charles made a way and attended Prairie View A&M University. At the age of nineteen he knew that it was time to move on, if he wanted his dreams to come true. This is when he moved to Houston, TX. and formed his first group by the name of The Southern Clouds of Joy Jr's. He made a name for this group all around Texas. Charles kept at his singing. During this time Charles was hired on by Delta Airlines as a customer service supervisor, he stayed with Delta Airlines for 19 1/2 years until he retired. While working for the airlines Charles never gave up on his singing, he formed a group by the name of Palms of Joy that he managed for several years. When he retired he pursed his own business and was making success happen. There was a man named Herb Keller, from Southwest Airlines that had heard of Mr.Wilson, and he called him, to offer him a position as a public relations manager. Charles accepted the position and went on to do many commercials for seventeen years, and there he retired for the second time. Never given up on his singing career, Charles came back with a group well known to the Houston area as The Pillars of Fire, and they were reformed as The Exciting Pillars of Fire. He has been managing this group for the last several years, and have taken them all over Texas and parts of Louisiana. He is now a member of the of The Lone Star Singing Association. You can find him every third Sunday with the association; and every fifth Sunday promoting local and national groups for all the city.
